It is on my 180gal I have a 1000gph and a 700gph. I have the PVC overflow and a hob box that does about 600max gph. I am cutting power to all pumps. Then I let the water all drain down until there is no drips. Then I let it sit for an average of 5mins. Then I just turn the power back on to the pumps. I watch it to see that it starts back up. It works without issues.

Lil update. I have not changed the overflow since I dropped it lower. I am maintaining syphon. Through all the water changes 3x 4-6hr power outages I have not lost syphon. The tank has been linked to the 125gal and I have planted that. Added more wood, rays, discus, a black aro and will be getting more discus today. Gars that i have left leave on the 2nd.
