Is it better if they turn out to be koliba or nigerian? Which do you guys prefer? Its not legal to import polys here so I assumed captive bred. One just had a bit of damage to its tail when I got them. I kinda like the patterning of koliba's so woundn't mind if they turn out to be kolibas. Do all lap types get the same size?

Not all laps will be the same size, some will 15" and some gets massive 20"+, like i said earlier depends how the polys eat. Even for wild polys its the same, some will eat more than the other so it will grow faster and bigger.
As for what i like better if koliba or nigerian, ill pick nigerian cause they look more like PBB,
I never get to own a koliba but ive heard they are almost the same a koloton.

They can interbreed, in asian they have poly that are mix and they are called lapen.
Maybe all polys can interbreed, ive seen hybrid like endlixansorgii, congixornate, endlixornate.
I remeber about sp. dabola that some say they are wild hybrid, some say they are them own species, no one really knows till someone can run some test and do a study on this sp.

This is interesting stuff. Because I have males and females of multiple types of polys would be cool if they do interbreed when mature. Especially as they are so rare here. A ornate lap or ornate endli would be awesome lol.

I hope mine become big eaters like my other polys. I know what you mean though the third ornate I have is 1/3rd of the size of the other two cause it never seems to eat. Same age though.

Polies just got more confusing
There are many on mfk whose blood would boil over this. I see the poly forum is not disturbed ,I guess you guys all want wc anyway.

Its not really confusing, those picture are cross breed between two species, mostly they have that in asia were they being breed alot, but even in asian its still very unique to have two different species will breed.
Most of the time they will breed a WC endli with a WC endli even they are different varients, but having two different species breeding is still rare.
Us MFK poly group been over this topic maybe hundred times already so its not new to us, plus like magpie mentioned we dont see this cross breed often here in the U.S cause people in asian go crazy with them if the see a cross breed like those in the pic. Trust me if we can ge a endlixornate here people will go and buy them, even a lapen we would get them.

Well in Australia poly's are quite rare and expensive so in a couple years if mine breed then that's awesome. I have no problem with that. I mean I hope to have pairs of the same species I believe I have a pair of endli's, ornates and senegals so far so if they breed same species cool but if they interbreed that would be unique and that's also awesome. I know alot of you guys love your WC but here I will take what I can get when I can get it lol.
