I have a question.

Basically could you keep a White Spotted Bamboo Shark in a 6x2x12"?

I live upstars and i cant go too high on the gallons but...

I will buy a skimmer rated for a 600ltr and do two 30" water changes a week for a total of 60% a week. Plus a huge external filter i plan to fill with live rock or something to help biologically.

I want to make it perfectly clear the future housing of this Animal is no problem, i own an 8x4x2 4 wide.

This tanks at my dads house in his brick shed, it has a 6x2x2 sump and i used it for my big catfish before i had a child and moved.

My dad has said that i could set the tank up if i didnt move in time, i just wanted to know would the shallow tank affect the Shark and how long would this work?

I would also be interested in adding some tankmates due to my missus thinking Sharks are boring.

Please answer my questions and save the flaming if this wouldnt work tell me why please.

Shallow tanks are fine for them. Most of my personal pup tanks are flat and shallow.

The 2' width will be very limiting for a shark. If you get a newly hatched pup it will work for about a year. You'll need something much wider at that point.

I agree;

since you have to keep the gallons down, it might be best to go for a shorter tank, with more floor space. Getting a pre-made tank of this extreme style might be difficult, so you might have to build your own (it sounds arduous, but big homemade tanks often look alot better, and are alot better for the animals they're made for, than commercially available ones.

A large, "squat" tank would also be advantageous, because it would spread out the over all weight of the tank onto multiple floor joists.

Ok guys so i could for the same amount of gallons have a 3x3x1 would this be any better?

What species do you recomend, i like all the ones that are common in the aquarist trade.

I am fully aware that eventually i will need a large round pond or a 12x6 aquarium to house my pet, but i am willing!

Assuming the shark would be okay what about a Lionfish, Panther Grouper and a blue spotted Stingray. Do any of these Fish pose a problem with Sharks?

Those fish are all compatible, just make sure each one is having their fair share of food.... Also you should introduce the grouper last since I've been hearing they and some other fish who start first will think the tank is their territory and will be extra aggressive towards incoming tank mates...

I was planning on putting the Grouper last i have personally witnessed this issue.

Tank wise i could also have 40"x32" wich would maybe be the best shape for this tank.
