So i want a Shark

So skip the Angel and get a Cortez?

What interesting tankmates could you guys recomend?

Thanks for all the feedback guys:thumbsup:

Yeah - skip the Angel - they tend to be bad tank mates for sharks in most home aquaria(unless you have a very large system).

Also you may want to consider skipping the Lion as well. Lions and some species of Sharks have had encounters that usually end up being fatal.

Really for a shallow tank - you don't want to have a lot of fish that get big, or that tend to be messy feeders. And angels, groupers, lionfish, sharks & rays all tend to be very messy feeders.

Personally I would stick with just the bamboo shark, and the cortez ray as the big fishes. At least until you move them to a larger tank.

agree.

I understand what you want though, just add some movement. Get a couple cardinals, or green chromis. Some clownfish or some over small little fish that almost is a decoration to the tank. For instance, this guys tank would suck if he didn't have all those damsels in there. Thats the only reason why he has them too. When adding fish first and letting them get use to their surroundings they hardly ever go down without a fight, and starvation of the other animal.

lol - I call those "grouper food" - anytime I add ANYTHING like damsels or chromies, even 2-3 dozen, they're gone within 2 days. The groupers DEVOUR them.

So what youre saying is the complete opposite of what i expected haha.

Is it a good idea to get smaller fish to live with these?

Would Clownfish do well?

I also really like Anthius, i just never considered it an option.

Would any of them get eaten, i mean it is a Shark.

Sharks only take easy food unless they aren't being fed enough. Small schooling fish aren't the natural diet of a carpet shark, and if you feed it on a normal basis, it won't be out hunting.
To give you an idea, I use my current ray/bamboo set up to go out grunts (1"-3" size) for the bigger tanks. The tricky part is getting food past them and down to the sharks/rays.

hey ive got a 92 gallon tank im somewhat new to big fish but id like a zebra shark because i saw somewhere that thats how much room it needs but i figured id check and see ur thoughts
