I dont get why everybody is hatin on the dempsey personality. Mine hid a lot when he was younger, but is a straight glass banger now. Especially when he sees me reach for his food. Then he begs. They are just shy when other fish arnt around, Which makes them not all that great at being show fish.

Personally, I would reallllllly love to have a breeding pair of Herichthys Pearsei in a 75.

I was going to suggest that but Pearsi get huge and I would worry about them outgrowing that tank fast. Mine is pushing 14 inches right now.

Trimac or Midas. JD's get really ugly when they get old.

Not ALL of them do. I've seen some older ones that are still really beautiful fish. But there are a great deal of them that do look odd, mine all have really nice shape to them and color. Mine also have quite a bit of personality and get super excited when they see the food can come out or think it may. JD's are DEFINITELY that fish that it depends on the individual fish. Some are nasty, some are weak, some are ugly and some are beautiful. As for the OP, if you like JD's, go with them. The only other fish I'd suggest is a Red Devil or Midas.

female festae ftw
