Aggresion maybe. Theres a lot of things we don't see when the lights go out so maybe it wasn't as noticeable during the day. Could be other things though but thats the first thing that comes to mind.

Hopefully that wasent it ;/

Unfortunately with CB specimens these days, a lot of these common bichir have very bad genetics. It more than likely was nothing that you did wrong, but just bad genes causing health issues for both. Sorry for your loss, I have many a CB in my freezer from the same effects.

^ yup I've lost 3 regular Senegal's over the years (all from a big box pet store) and all of em died before reaching 4 inch, the other one went when it was 6 inch, I have an albino sen now too that has outlived a CB Senegal attempt. I like to stick with WC specimens from now on for that reason

Hello I am interested in what you have for filtration on this tank. My grow out tanks house very few fish to gallion ratio because that is the point so they grow faster better then in standard stocked tanks. You listed the tank as a ten gallon then listed at least 7 fish most a couple inches in size at least. That is over crowded in my opinion, even if they work together that is a heavy load on a filter of such a small tank. Also in my experience 20 gallon and below can swing out of balance in water quality extremely fast. I use 20 and 29 gallon tanks for my growouts to start in and each houses from one to three fish total. I move them up to even bigger tanks once they out grow these tanks and i decide they are worth keeping and if not they go back to a LFS or someone elses tank. I have both wild and captive bichirs and have never had a problem losing them unless you count the one who jumped out the back of the tank where the filter was attached. Good luck with your fish.

Thanks I have been a member for quite some time just first wanted to spend my time reading and learning others thoughts and experience with the aqua world. Then got consumed with a new job. Now back at it upgrading my tanks and ponds for my fish and finding time to try and give back to this great forum.
