Are you positive your's is a 3gal?.. I have the same tank but it's deffinately a 5 gallon. planted as well My java fern grows very small and tight. and my java moss went berzerk. I'm wanting to see how the ricc does. Always wanted to try it. Cherry Shrimp and had a tiny peppermint pleco in mine, now have Ottos... wish i woulda left the peppermint in the tank he did a much better job at algae control. I use flourish, and excel and like it. very simple and easy to use for small planted tanks. And use eco-complete in my 20H and highly reccomend it. after you put it in leave your filter off for an hour or 2 though to let it settle abit before you turn it on. and rinse the cartridge 2x a day for the first few days. Helped alot w/ my own set-up.
Yes it is a 5 gallon my math was off. So I dident get eco-complete because it was 40 dollars at the pet shop I went to and I don't want to wait for shipping so I'm gonna do root tabs by seachams. My idea went through a change and I came up with a scape and a list and bought it all today. I got excel, flourish, and the root tabs. So here is the list followed by some pics.
looks similar to what i am doing. I am building a small glass 30 x 26 x 26cm
nano and have decided to use ADA substrate too In fact put my order
in last night. Also ordered some plants Mine will be a shrimp only tank and i plan to stock it with those beautiful Ninja shrimp that Dave has.
My tank will house a dwarf puffer. I am going to try some ottos to but I hear d/p's will nip ther fins sometimes. So we will see I plan on doing a weekly picture of my tank and putting it into my photobucket acount so there will probably be an update in a month or so. Thanks for compliment.
How should I dose flourish and excel they are such small amounts. I can't find anything to measure 1/2 ml. Has anyone had this issue before? What can be done about it? Ideas please?
Nice! you can find a syringe in the bird department of most petstores, or try walmart/walgreens ect in the baby formula areas. or try a local vets office. You just need the plastic part no needles!
