now consider they just recently really started cracking down on where Snappers for Snapping turtle soup come from.....if you're in your mid-20s, you've likely eaten Snapper of questionable sources if you've had it at all. Best we treat it like any PA recreationally-caught species and limit eating it to once a month at most (as an apex predator).

they started cracking down on origins of snappers for culinary purposes when I was still a teenager.....everyone older thn me used to tell me how they'd catch them and sell them to the local restaurants, but not anymore in the 80's after they started finding more and more toxins in keystone predators and even further down the food chain.
