Will get some photos and maybe even a video today! cheers everyone.

Really excited... To be honest the way the Cichla market is in the UK I think I will probably be able to sell most of them privately. booming market at the moment.

Fingers crossed.

hey congrats on the spawn, its very eye opening and fun to see these little guys grow to be as big as the mom and dad. I wouldn't call my self a expert because I'm only 15 and have a lot more to learn, but I think I'm pretty knowledgeable about the Cichla Breeding. My pair just produced my 5th batch of little fry, and the number 1 thing that I have learned, is never get ahead of your self and try selling before they reach required size (1in-2in). Because I hade about 200 wigglers and then when it became time to eat and swim and do what they need to do, I only have about 50 or so. Now If you have say a HOB filter on our tank or a Canister, then take those off, go invest in a pond air pump and hook up around 2-3 (depending on tank size) sponge filters in you tank that the pair is in. When you have that, you can go ahead and put a power head or something in there to keep the water moving. Then when they spawn keep the power head in there until there last days of the wiggler stage. Then get a turkey baster and defrost the frozen BBS or your live BBS into a small container, like Salad dressing bowl and use the Turkey Baster and suck up the BBS and slowly lower the Baster into the tank to where the fry are and slowly squeeze out the BBS into the area where the fry are. But the number 1 rule that I learned was never get ahead of your self. But Please post pics, and videos. But I don't mean tell you what to do, or how to do thing, just giving ideas, and maybe they work for you too.

Any update?

Seems like most of the wigglers have died... I have approximately 20 left. Is it normal for this many to die? My fish house gets very hot in the summer and it is baking here at the moment, the water was 32 when I checked, do you think this could have been the reason? I already lost a lot by missing them hatch. most of them had already hatched and I had to syphon them into the other tank, again I wonder if this could have killed them?

Next time as soon as the eggs turn dark I will move the rock.

From what I know I think 32c is like 89F that could have been it, my garage was around 105f or 40C and I had just reg house fans blowing in a circular motion just to keep the air moving, then I also had blocks of ice on stand by just in case. But ya the temp could have done it, Well now you know what you should do and what yo should try to prevent. One again, Good luck
