Voorhees
Ok so heres the story that led up to the destruction of my pond. Verizon has been putting fiber optic lines through the rich neighborhoods of Voorhees NJ. But being southern Nj its very hilly and sandy they had problems. They used this machine called a ditich witch that dug a path under peoples yards so they can run the lines under ground where everything is . Well fall 2008 they ran a line through the hill in my back yard and under my pond. Being late fall we already drained and winterized the sprinkler system in my parents yard. Well just today being a nice day and putting down grass seed for the spring we turned on the sprinkers. Verizon had hit a major sprinker zone that fall casuing all the water under the pond to totally mess up the under ground box which kept the uv and outlet box for the pond. Pond also became uneven due to the sand being washed away on the sides and under. The stone work just became a mess. This pond was present for my parents a couple years ago. The good thing is that I did want to redo the whole thing so now I have the chance. I have been wanting to make my own filter and setup a new water fall. Im not sure what kind of filter and I was hoping for help. I have done research which has led to more confusion on what I should do filter wise. So if I can have your opions or ideas I greatly appericate it. Thank you.

Heres some pics of the mess . Luckly I have the fish Inside in a kiddy pool in my garage for now.

Heres an update I just fixed the sprinkler line but its just a mess where the pond is.

go bigger ;) then use 55 gallon drums for filtration, you could do it with that it just might be overkill. you could always build a rock wall around one and have it be behind your waterfall. there is a sticky on 55 gallon drum filters.

ok i lied i thought there was a sticky about it. but i cant find it, im sure if you search you can find plenty on them.

I think Verizon should reimburse you for destroying your sprinkler system and pond.....you should look into that...

I agree with this also.

They were doing the same thing in my neighborhood....Dug up my grass and ended up not replanting anything. Then my driveway had a big uplited bump thing running across it. They said they would then come out and fix the driveway and plant seed which they did neither becuase "it wasn't their problem"

Get a shovel and a bolt cutter. Dig up their cable, cut out a 40 ft section, and build your pond. When they get pissed, tell them it "isn't your problem".
