Get a shovel and a bolt cutter. Dig up their cable, cut out a 40 ft section, and build your pond. When they get pissed, tell them it "isn't your problem".

Exactly what I would do! Sorry to hear

Actually, cut out all the cable on your property, It's legal.

So heres an update: Verizon said they pay up to $300 dollars for the Pond and $100 dollars for the sprinkler line they broke. It only cost me $5 to replace it my self. So I have $395 to build myself a new pond!

there you go!!!!

now cut the pipes.

You deffinately DO NOT want to cut a fiber optic line!!!

I have a part-time landscape company. Last year at a job in a new construction neighborhood, a fiber-o cable was cut. Sprint can out to my site to see if we hit it. The supervisor inspected the site and found it was not us, but said had we hit a fiber-o line, the repair costs are over 10K..:WHOA:

haha, awesome deal man!!
way to go!!
and about a 10k dollar repair.. that's soo much.. what if the person still didn't care and did it! maaaan

As much as I want to cut the Fiber Optic line I do not want to be exposed to a sudden burst of lasers and have verizon dig up my lawn to fix the line. But on the good side I am drawing out my new pond with spray paint right now on the lawn

Actually they will make it your problem. Because it's a utility cutting it can be illegal depending on the state. If your going to do it make sure they can't nail you for it.

:iagree: You should give them a call and see if they'll offer any compensation.
Couldn't agree more, play nice and see what they say, failing that start sending letters and see what happens.

Good luck
