Praziquantel is a bitter tasting powder which shows good absorption directly from the treated water, and then admirable clearance of various surface and internal flukes (trematodes) and internal worms in fish.

The advantages are that Praziquantel is entirely benign to plants, fish and filter while clearing the Flukes and intestinal worms out rapidly and completely, even with fry.

Thanks.

I have gotten way off track with arguements. I apologize. Internet battles are so easy to get into for me.

Gram- (treatment with Marcyn II = minocycline) ~~common bacteria = vibrio, aeromonas are internal and pseudomonas is an external

Gram+ (treatment with Maracyn = erythromycin) ~~common bacteria = ???

Use both together.

***Miles I know that you are not in H.S. - just said that to piss you off - sorry. :footinmou:lipsseale

a combination pack for pack is best with them (maracyn and maracyn2)IME furan2 also works well as it treats G- and G+ in one shot .... you cant be specific on what you are treating if your not in a lab and can check...

Just a thought. I remembered one thing about this tank it is that the fluval FX5s are filled with Lava rock as biofiltration. Any thoughts on if this would affect the soft water rays?

It is the only time I have done it with any filter

No, no effect, on pH.

I remember DW not recommending Lava Rock once because it released a contaminant.. effected the rays, but not the other fish.

Tough to say, but that could be it.. too bad you don't have a digital reader to test for all the minerals.. :D
