So who has bred their fish ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am currently breeding dovii, common motaguense, and trying Nandopsis haitiensis. I have bred trimacs in the past, also a number of crosses doviixjag, doviixjagdovii, freddixmotaguense. All the hybrid fry were fed to my pikes with the exception of one motag freddi hybrid.

The trimac fry never survived probably due to lower water temps, also I have had a hell of a time with motaguense fry due to the aggressive tendencies the fry have with each other.

I am planning on breeding my convicts. Any1 got sugestions for tank. I am going to breed them a 10g. My female is only around an inch or so. What should i put in tank so i can keep them and there babies for awhile. the babies ill probly use as feeders for my other tanks

I just had my last surviving pair of convicts (feeders!) breed in my softshell tank. Little bastards are tougher than I thought.

Curious to know how big the Dovii are that you're breeding Black1031. I can't imagine how mean Dovii must be when they are guarding eggs. I wouldn't want to be another fish in that tank!

Last thing I bred were diamond tetras by accident. Found a total of 10 fry in the tank while I was vacuuming gravel. Thought they were tiny pieces of dirt at first glance. They were insanely small but free swimming smartly out of sight in the plants. Pic is of the dad and some of the grown juvies after they were big enough to be non-food items. BTW, what ever happened to diamond tetras? Haven't seen any lately.

I still breed flowerhorns and convicts. I am trying to breed a flowerhorn to a blood parrot now. I have in the past breed mollies and guppies.

Glad to hear that. Haven't seen any for about 5 years. They used to be everywhere. Seems like suddenly every LFS near me has something against carrying them now.
