i keep bettas myself, but i dont get what is so wrong on fighting bettas.
if ull go deep in history, its been a tradition on some asian countries like camdodia and thailand. It "was" and had been a tradition for them to raise up and train fighter bettas commnly named as the "plakats" the short finned ones...
however when it hit the us and northern country... the bettas were breed to look nicer...

i find that the problem with fighting bettas is that they are in an enclosed space where they HAVE to fight. In the wild they fight too, i understand that, but they have a place to flee to. This is usually not so in a fight.
