Gut loaded superworms are a great food source too. Long lived and very easy to take of (unlike mealworms, no cool source is required)

Dude, how can you not know, since i think i know which Aro shop you are talking about in Mongkok... Which btw, are not breeders, and not strictly aro sellers... They even sell Batman rays and any other expensive exotic fish... So anything they can make good money on basically...
As for the dubia roaches + super worms , just hit up any one of the numerous reptile shops on fish street in MK and you'll find all the insects you need...

Seeing as I've seen plenty of huge amazing looking Arowana and fish in general without feeding live feeders of any sort I'd say no.
