Sold as EBJD but I don't think so? Pics

Sorry to say you have been breeding the wrong fish as this is not an EbJd, please post pics of your fish for comparison.

Just search MFK for 'ormed', nuff said. Adixon816, I won't say anything about your fish, but rather show you a progression of mine, and not to show it off. In hopes of maybe shedding a little "BLUE" light on all of this. I even argued with a knucklehead (lol, sorry Oriqua) but realized in the end I was the knucklehead, because genus specific breeders know a bit more.

Fish when he got home from LFS. Was labeled "Powder Blue"

Now compare these 2 different place/time of the same fish:

As time goes on by, both with flashes but different weeks:

this fish would be interesting to see grown out ! I see a future update grow out thread coming up :D

These are the ultimate true ebjd beasts, took 3 years to breed maxing out over 10" and strong immune systems.
Dont mean to de rail but these are what true ebjd look like when fully grown
Eithwr way OP, you have a nice jd on your hands. be sure to feed him quality food like NLS and he will be a pearly stunner!

Adixon, I believe you've got an ebjd, lets see, Cali hawk its okay that you reference me with the arguement we had in the"end you understood I was only trying to help you out" and experience proved my point! I hope more people on this site can be more open to knowledge from other hobbyists. We are all learning. Ormed and blue jacks sites are great wealth of knowledge. Plenty of water changes, mixed diet and you will see that jack blossom.

From the pics provided, that is not an EBJD, sorry that you had to pay full price for that OP. just a nice blue gene

This is what the average EbJd looks like as a juvy..

Here's a beauty of a BGJD I raised from the Ormed pair#2

Your picture is indeed a picture of a juvi EBJD. Just curious... what makes you think its a normal JD?

If I had been breeding the wrong fish then Ormed sold me the wrong pair that produced all of the above pictures.

Hey Hollywood always loved your stock and had some years ago? I loved the blue geno in the bottom picture..Do you know who got him? and what he turned out to look like? he was a stunner and if you have any more let me know...I would love to buy some..

Nice stock Hollywood, those are indeed EBJDs and so in turn you have been breeding the right fish, but the OPs is not a ebjd, that was the point I was trying to get off

Its hard to pinpoint why I know its a normal jack dempsey, but the best way I can tell you is that it lacks the "powderey" blue colors throughout the body (like those of the juvy you posted in pic 2) and that it has more blue pearls and brownish body making it look more like the BG you posted in your last picture.
I have raised so many EBjDs and seen so many from my breeder thats its easy to distinguish them
Here was my favorite ebjd I had before I gave him away

Endo,

Very nice powdery Blue EBJD. Are you still breeding EBJD?
I have been out of the EBJD breeding for at least 5 years but slowly increasing my Stock.
Thanks for sharing your stock pictures and I have to agree with your comments on pinpointing a JD.

Mine at 1.5 inchs I bought for 25 dollars May 23 2012 and second picture is him at 6+inchs about a week or so ago...what the pics look like could be a ebjd or it could be a regular jd...I just havent seen any ebjds that you would have a debate like this before
