we tested some zavlar on glass and it seemed to hold pretty good. and hoping it does or else i think we will have to rip apart both tanks and do the epoxy i guess:confused:

In all of the test I did, it held on glass until it got wet. Then it came off within hours without leaving a trace of liquid rubber on the glass. If you can, post a picture of the way your viewing window is installed.

did you have any luck putting the liquid rubber just straight over the glass? im trying to figure out what i am going to do on mine

It bonds great to glass until it gets wet, then you can wipe it off with your hand in about an hour. I sent you a PM on the method I used.

i just got your pm and replied now that i logged on.. i can't think of a better way than how you did it good thinking. and its good that im waiting for my 5 gal bucket of zavlar or i would have gone too far already haha. did you just use normal fiberglass you can get for cars or boats? and just normal 100 percent silicone right?

yeah we are in panic mode i think :WHOA: not as confident as we were at the start of the project. expensive learning project if it turns out bad. might be one huge lizard tank for my girlfriend  i guess we could try tearing it apart but i think bad things might happen.

as of today my friend's tank is holding up, and is starting to fill for the final time. sand, heaters and filters. his has been running with an fx5 and 305 for a couple of weeks and seems all good. we ended up using paintable caulking and zavlared over it. mine i will do another water test in a couple of days, and hope that i covered up the spot where it leaked.
