I read it in field and stream magazine. If you get stuck by a catfish. Take its belly and rub it on the sting. I was thinking yeah right bull****.

Well when the ex old lady busted the 150 and i was moveing my tsn to the 75 gal. I got stuck in my hand between thumb and for finger. And the catfish was just hangin by my hand. Half inch deep or more. I got it out and got him in the 75. I caught the bullhead catfish. And decided to rub its belly on my wound cuz it hurt like hell and i figured what did i have to lose. Well within ten minutes all pain had went away. And my hand is still useuable. . If you get stung try it it fucing works :werd:

field and stream recomended it dude . i trellya i dont think i be able to move my hand if i hadnt done it

Moving this to lessons learned since its a good tip. Other mods may move it if they find a more appropriate sub forum.

wow... that really works? Wish I knew that some of the many times I've been stuck by channel cats when I've been out fishing.

it was in either field and stream. or outdoor life. In a survival section something like 250 things every outdoorsmen should no. I didnt think it would work.
But i been useing my hand ever since with no pain or real discomfort. It was stil red for like two days but nothing serrrious never even put peroxide on it

It helps, for coral and jelly stings pee on them. You can pee on catfish stings too but it won't help.

Thanks for informing us :)

The catfish slime works-I've used it on different Synodontis and hardheads. I've heard about the pissing on jellyfish stings, but soft drinks also work.
