At the hospitol, they told my friend that when it happens again, run the injury under the hottest water you can stand, well he tried it, worked great he said he uses that method all the time because he warks at an lfs and its habit to him to get stung, always showing off for the customer, I will pass on the belly remody to him also.

yes...heat denatures the proteins that make up the poisons...in costa rica when people get bitten by a snake they take a big syringe and put it in the puncture, first they pull out as much blood as they can with it, then they empty and heat oil or seawater with garlic and inject that into the puncture...same general principle, but more effective and more painful. I saw this happen. My guide in cor covado was bitten by a tercio pelo (fer de lance), and he just sat right down and did exactly what he had just been talking about. He didn't even kill the snake (they don't carry machetes there, but he could have broken its neck or hit it with a rock. I've seen this guy break a 6" thick branch with no effort.) he just swore and threw it into the woods. when he was done he just stood up and offered to continue the tour. I declined.
