Looks like it could be a 'Centipede', 'Mottled', or 'Glass' knife.. Tough to tell with those pictures. There is a number of other small south american electric knives that are peaceful. I have seen a few with marbled patterns, broken brown patterns, and all beige.. Not alot of scientific classification, so there is alot of confusion when you start seeing these 'not so common' species.

They are not carapo however, they are much more shy and peaceful.. Very opportunistic eaters, cherish live black worms and will 'graze' on most frozen foods. Makes them tough to keep in a community because of feeding, but they can live with Tetras, and usually like to 'lay around' in the plants during the day.

Cool knife.. Not expensive usually, but you don't see them often. So that can sometimes inflate the price.

Heres a few pics of these types of knives.. and a pic of a crazy buck-tooth knife.

That's awesome. Is that a Nandus I saw?

No, it was a leaf fish. But I like the loach!
