Ya... I'm finding this out. Thinking back... it kinda makes sense. Whenever I have a big water change and before I had the working tank, I used aquasafe to make water chlorine free. I did this for my 125 gallon a lot. No way my RO filter was going to keep up with that. lol. Back to using aquasafe, I guess. Almost not sure what I would use the RO filter for now... drinking water? I looked up low ph levels for drinking water and that's not so hot of an idea, either... Can't win! Supposedly, it isn't too bad, though. It's mainly just an issue if you have an open mouth sore because the acidity of the RO water will impair healing.
Either way... eating like a hog again. When the Ph gets good again, I'll look into tank mates. I know my daughter wants the glo skirt tetras. If these are ok with some salt, I'd like to get an archer or 2. Have a top and middle fish. Concerns? Ideas?
Agree with Aquanero, RO water is not good for most fish (or people for that matter), unless you replace the lost minerals with supplements, osmotic stress could create more problems than bargained for.
Alrighty, been doing water changes. Probably need some ph up because the water is still reading below 6. My fish is doing much better and is somewhat active for an ambush predator. He'll swim all levels of tank when it's about time to eat.
Thanks again for the help. I got a full salvo of chemicals for next round should there be one.
