I finally found some fish for my 60g tank. I've been looking for african oddballs and just found them... at Petsmart:banher:
I picked up 2 senegal bichirs (labeled dinosaur bichir - hey, they've almost got the name right!) and 1 leopard bushfish (Ctenopoma).
The bichirs are roughly 3" long and the bushfish is about 1-1/2" long. They're so cute! But the tank still looks empty:naughty:
So far, the inhabitants of this tank are:
2 Gambusia
2 Apple snails
2 Senegal Bichirs
1 Leopard Bushfish
...And lots of plants!
Any suggestions on more fish to add to the tank? Or suggestions on aquascapement ideas? As soon as I can find some African Butterfly fish, I'll be adding about 3 to the tank.
Without further ado, here are some pics of my tank...and fish

Looks good. The bichirs will grow in no time.

thinking a nice piece of driftwood right about in the middle of the tank-Anne

enjoy your bichirs

:iagree: Place a nice driftwood in there :D
By the way, your Sens are looking great!:)

I'm keeping a look out for a good peice of driftwood for my tank. All the pieces at the petstore are too small and too overpriced.
Any ideas for tankmates?

I really like the Ctenopoma. I miss mine. They are such neat little fish.

if you get mult ctenopoma. they will interact with each other.

african knife fish fit your theme. So would ropefish.

maybe some syno cats but I am not sure how big they get.

if you want to get away from the theme, cichlid wise severums would be cool and maybe something like a yoyo loach. maybe a school of a bigger tetra.
