I've been gambling with it, I have a little 10 gallon i'm thinking of making into a QT if I can find a filter for it. I'm wanting to get a mandarin in the near future. If I have a 10 gallon tank egg crate and corals/frags can I still use it with one fish while I get him to feed?

if the tank doesnt have a sand substrate i wouldnt put a mandarin in there. he probably didnt have much to eat at the store you get him at and keeping him in there while you get him to eat might not be a good idea especially if he doesnt take food right away. at least in an established tank with sand he can go around and pick at pods all day until he warms up the the frozen foods or whatever you are giving. they already say they are hard to keep and im sure the time they spend in a little tank in most LFS for a couple weeks doesnt help their feeding.

That's true, good point. He would be better off starting in the 90 gallon display.

the photos don't do the colors justice.
I sat through a aquarium photography work shop last weekend that gave me some good tips that I need to try. Ill post some more pics later when I get the settings worked out. The last pic is the best so far
lower your ISO to 100 if you can and drop you shutter speed to like 1/80 or lower if you can. and Fstop to 3.8 -4.0
THats what I do for corals.

Thanks for the tip I will see if I can figure that out
every once in awhile I get a great pic by accident

in my opinion when ur taking pics of corals u get better results with a higher f-stop. I usually shoot round ISO 400, shutter 1/60, f-stop 8-10

the higher fstop keeps more of the coral in focus.
