Your sev is red hot n those red hooks are gorgeous. What's their diet like?

the redhooks eat shrimp pellets, colour bits and tetra floating cichlid sticks

when they were younger I fed them lettuce and the trimmings from my plants, but not so much any more.

they love the floating food sticks.

okay, here is a close up of the 65 gallon tall saltwater, with monodactylus and a golden jack.

this tank is still a bit hazy right now - when I was on holiday my brother left both the powerglo bulb and actinic bulb on 24 hours a day for the whole time I was gone (8 days).

came home to an algae bloom and I am just now getting around to clearing it up.

it is usually crystal clear..

its too bad. these altums are friends (follow each other everywhere) but I have yet to see any eggs...I have had them for a few years now.

this shot gives an idea of his size: he is not really that big.

It worked out well having him in with the giant fish though, because he was really nasty in my smaller tanks with other fish.

He is not stupid: he won't harass fish that have bowel movements that are bigger than him..lol

Oh sorry lol The camera made him look so much bigger, at first i didn't even see him in that tank! Those barbs are big...
