Nice setup, i love your EBJD!

Thanks for all the nice comments about my fish. My favorites are the Chocolate, red spotted severum, EBJD. My large oscar I think is pretty nice. The large JD never really turned out to have great color and is a bit of an odd fish. It always stays in the back and just doesn't have much personality. The Robertsoni and brasiliensis are starting to color up.

Any suggetstions on what type of rock to put in? I was thinking maybe some lava rock. But a store close to me has all kinds of rock that looks nice. I'm hoping to get some aquascaping done this week with it be a three day weekend.

Good list of fish for a setup that size - I'd only worry about the chocolate cichlid and the oscar as the chocolate matures, those robertsoni are nice. Keep us updated on this when you start to aquascape :)

J/w but why would you worry about the choco? Was thinking of getting one since they seemed pretty docile compared to the others....

I did some work on the aquascaping this weekend. It's still not great, but looks a lot better. My EBJD and chocolate are really starting to grow.

Looks great. EBJD and severum are fantastic. I need to find some sevs like that.

very nice aquascaping on the new shots. nice tank also and fish looking healthy, ure BJD is stunning.

Note (everyone else missed this one) : ure "male JD" is a female, u can tell by the blue beard. this could be news that if u have a male blue dempsey then they might pair up;)

Thanks for the correction mbunafishkeeper. I had been told it was a male and never really questioned it.:) Most of it's blue is higher on it's body and it does not have a ton of spangling on it's gill plate so I just went with what I was told. It has never really had the finage of a male so I just thought it wasn't a very good one. I have no clue what my EBJD is. I'll just have to wait and see. I'm not sure if they can be sexed very easily until the mature. It's fins look more like a male but all EBJD's tend to have longer fins.

Thanks for the info.
