Some Venomous

Some great pix there, an a nice little collection you have there too. But as way too many people in the past can attest to, sooner or later everyone gets nailed. And if the venom doesn't kill you, trust me on this one the hospitalization bill will. For unless you are doing this professionally at some sort of licensed institution ie: Zoo, medical etc, most Insurance companies will not cover your medical bills otherwise.

Good luck with them. Keeping and breeding Hots as they are commonly referred too is but a small niche in the reptile hobby that runs the real risk of dying out far sooner than the rest of the hobby. Because Venomous permits are not as easy to come by any more, plus with the fast moving legislation across the country banning everything but Dogs, Cats and Kids. I don't think it will be around much longer.

Nice collection.

One of my other favorites :)

Keep me updated on hatches from your pairs - I'd be interested in a few weenies myself :)

Is that a Rhino Viper? Nice specimen. I personally have always wanted a nice fat breeding pair of Gaboons....nice and hotttttt.

What's the temperament on the bush viper like? I've always wanted one. :)

It really depends on the individual, atheris is know for being snappy and short tempered, and I've worked with some very aggresive ones. Ironically, my male is really chill, he usually doesn't get defensive even when I take him out to clean his cage.

Hopefully I will breed my insularis and squams next fall.

I keep him around 79 with a 5 degree drop at night. They don't like humidity as much as my others, I try to keep him around 50-60%.

Nice rhino! My friend has 4 1/2 foot gabby, the fangs are huge!

Lovely snakes you have there...

But I have to ask (probably a stupid question you've gotten a million times) but have you ever been bitten by one of them?

What got you into keep poisonous snakes?

No I never been bit (knock on wood). I had a mentor that taught me the proper techniques and how to be responsible. I really don't take them out of their cages unless I have to clean. I'm confident with my skills but I also treat the snakes with great respect and remember what kind of damage they can do if I get careless.

I wanted to do venomous because I've always had a love for reptiles and in my opinion they are the most beautiful. I also wanted venomous because they are socially unaccepted like most of the animals on this website. Milk snakes and pythons just don't do it for me!

That variable one is just so spellbinding.

The way it's scales look hinged like that.

Amazing hots man.Insanity...

Squams are by far my favorite, they're hard to come by though, I really want a black pair.
