Somebody STOLE the fish from my pond....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Should file a police report. They have probably stolen other stuff in the area too and the bike tracks could help identify them. Some one once stole my dog. I put a big poster board out on my front fence that said "HELP someone stole my beagle" and put my phone number under it. After about three or four weeks someone finally called to tell me who had stolen my dog. Parents will notice if their kids bring home that many fish. At least I know I would...

SCREW THAT CRAP! They are kids so physical harm to them is kind of out of the question. I would canvas the neighborhood talk to every one of your neighbors and pinpoint this punk or group of punks. Their aren't alot of things that really get me riled up but stealing is one of them. Can't stand it! I grew up in a place that is just like previously described no one wants you to have anything they can't afford themselves. All they want to do is the easy thing and take what others have earned. Not envolving the cops might be the right thing in the short term if your after street justice but if you want to do things the right way call the cops and file a report. This way if something else happens they can better track the criminals.

Kids do some stupid things!

Couple of thoughts.

One thing that might slow them down enough to get caught next time is to make them "noodle" the fish out with their hands....keep the net in the house.

You would need a place to conceal it or they would steal it as well, but trail cam style motion activated cameras are fairly inexpensive. There are several types available on hunting supply web sites. Don't think they would work through a window, but not sure.

Man Decker that blows ! Keep an eye on cl and the lfs i bet they may show up and you know all the lfs owners so they'll let ya know if someone brings them in , i doubt they put them in there dads pond without him asking questions but now adays ya never know it mighta been your neighbor and the tire tracks were kids passin thru who knows !

Sorry for the loss, man. It always sucks to lose perfectly healthy fish especially when you didn't do anything wrong.

I had a similar experience, but what I think(cant prove) happened is that the pool guy rinsed something off in my pond killing a bunch of my geos and gymnogeophagus. I had only put them in there a few months before it happened.

Anyways, good luck and hope to see a new pond set up when you make the move.

Might even pay to contact lfs and tell them what happened and ask them to contact you if someone brings your fish in.

Your not gonna belive this the NOTE worked! I got home after dark last night and just the lip of the pond ws wet and the NOTE, but patio was dry! I woke up this morning and the fish are BACK! However, I do have black bmx skid marks all over our patio that was just pressure washed white 2 months ago. Silly kids...
