How would a stingray with gills on the bottom make sense?

Sent from my iPad using MonsterAquariaNetwork app

Because that is what they are, gills. Rays have several ways to intake water over the gills. Spiracles, mouth and the opening for gills on the underside.......
The ribs are actually along the back.........

GL Vulkan, hope all works out for you.

I thought the little holes n the top near the eyes. How do the breath when there sucked onto the bottom

By the little holes by the eyes they are the spiracles. They allow water to be in taken or expelled over the gills, but they also do this from the underside which is where the gills are actually located inside.

Pictures worth a thousand words.............

First pic shows Mouth Nostrils and gills.

Water is drawn in through the spiracles (behind the eyes), passed over the gills, and exits through the gill slits (underside of the ray). This allows rays to still breath even when buried in the substrate.
Good luck with your ray!

omg... anatomy..... anyways GL.. prolapses seem to heal or not. I've heard epsom salts can help, but ive always just done clean water, fast, and keep stress low. doesn't look like any sign of infection but its one of the worst I've seen, but also the first ray ive seen with one as well.
