i just saw one dude wearing his uni today. seems to be 40+ and it was the older darker uni. i dont know where he was going but it didnt bother me. i should have asked him if he was doing laundry.
No disrespect to the military: I think you might be right though. I was at a bar last year and a group of men and women came into the bar in military uniforms. We bought them drinks all night. Looking back though, if they truly aren't supposed to be in public (especially a bar) in uniform, maybe they do that for girls, free drinks, discounts, etc.
also if you are close to a fort or a building associated with the military, i can see this happening all the time. people have family day and can leave base to do what ever they want for a few hours before reporting back. there are countless graduations too. i was with some of them. we went shopping and went eating while they were still in battle uniforms. here in philly, you can bump into them around recruiting offices. millions more around the southhampton area.

Ding ding ding, see? called it. being a guido, being iced out in jewelry, having a porshe, etc etc isn't going to get you free drinks at the bar, hence why i don't view them as the same
