I dont want to be the stickler here, but, 1/2" is way too thin for a 36" tall tank, I have a 24" tall 250 g. with 1/2" and that scares me. By acrylic standards, 24" is as high as you should go with 1/2" acrylic. So can you mimmick the sound as it exploded. Do your best sound and please add pictures of your hands flailing about to show the percussion. Sorry Phil, had to add a little humor there.
I heard a quick "tick..tick" and didn't even have time to let out an "aw..S%^%^!" before the dam burst.
What kills me is it was full when I bought it. I even kept fronts in it for a couple of years. I figure it sustained stacking or bounce damage from the highly skilled and cautious moving company packers.
