Sooooo who wants to sell me a 3D background?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
First off, I apologize for the quality, camera phone is all I have to work with...now onto the pics!

Alright, here is a piece I cut off from the length, you can see how much detail there is even on these slim lines.

Here's what the back of the panel looks like so you can see how multiple panels would fit together.

A random piece I cut off to put up next to it so you can see how they connect.

And these next two are with it in place - lighting is crap and I'm not 100% satisfied with my scaping job, so will be changing that up next week/WC day :D. Oh and I'll be getting black/blackish clear inlets and outlets for my canisters so they don't stand out as badly - I have inline heaters.

The center piece doesn't stick out as bad as it looks in the picture - again bad lighting/camera.

I also found that where they connect is a great place to hide airline tubing for an air stone (have always hated the way the tubing looked and I would try to run it up around the tank to a corner to hide it prior).

I still don't completely understand how they connect, but that does look pretty sweet. I'm doing co2 heavy planted in mine so I wont need that pesky airline tubing. I hate it too. Is it obvious where they connect?

Yes, I'm triple posting, but yet another picture of it in the tank. Trying to get a good one so you can see it...lighting and camera aren't playing nice though!

Can see my BN in there, she's liking it already :D

You just fit them together, on the pic with the back panel you can see how the end of it is raised and the next piece fits under that.

I can tell where they are put together but that's because I installed it. It doesn't really stick out where they connect as it looks as if it's part of the rocky background itself.

Alright cool. I'm just nervous of there being obvious divisions where the pieces connect.

What do you think about the second one down with some tan sand and peacock bass? planted and surface floating plants.

How many sections did you get for your tank? I'm doing the math 2 ways lol. Yours is 6 feet right?

Yeah 6 feet, I emailed Matt before I purchased it and kinda asked him a few questions and etc. and he told me he had an extra section he could toss in there and to only purchase 3 sections, so I did :D.

That's the one I almost changed my substrate in order to get I liked it so much :)

I was a bit nervous myself prior to seeing the pieces on how smoothly it would install and connect. But once you get the pieces you just kinda go "Oh, so that's how they connect together - well that makes sense!".

Wow excellent answers haha. Did you use your sections for the 31.75" as the height or length? Cause I'd need 4 wide if I stood them up. That's recommended right?

And I really, really like the number 2 piece. =]
