this one looks more realistic then the aquaterra crap everwere one

The paint job on most of the DBN backgrounds is what turns me off. There is nice detail work and texture, but the paint job looks like it belongs on toys. A few of the designs are just odd. The roots mixed into rock, whatever they're trying to go for seems like they may be trying to hard. Simplicity goes a long way. I will say that one thing they have over AT is the quantity of selection...something for everyone.

I think the tree stump backgrounds from both manufacturers fail. Its very difficult to mimic a tree coloration. If I had to pick one, I still think this AT is the best out there -

BUT, as soon as you add in real driftwood to the tanks decore/aquascape the artificial stump stands out like a sore thumb.

I'm either going with the congo or light congo. I think they'll look the best with my tan sand. And I'm pretty sure I can hide the seam.

That's a really awesome background. I saw Joey's 180g discus tank in person and it's frigging amazing. Looks like an actual tree out of the jungle. If it weren't so expensive, I probably would have done that same one, but it does take up a lot of room in the tank.
