Sorry guys about all the questions but my arowana is acting strange.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok I'll do weekly water changes in the 65g until the jardini gets moved. Also the 210 will be planted along with 2 caf-250g sponge filters, 2 hang on back filters and a fx6 with 2 liters of seachem matrix and another liter of purigen. With all of that is it ok if I do a water chage every 2 to 3 weeks because I have school..... but if I absolutely have to do weekly water changes I can make it work. But that's an absolute, I go to "advanced" school so we have at least 2-3 hours of hw every night not including all of our essays.

It sounds to me as if you don't have the time to properly care for this large species.
Aquariums require time and commitment, and the larger the fish, the more time, and commitment they require, because larger fish require more and larger water changes, and filter maintenance.
When a future large fish is young you may get away with a lax schedule, but the more they grow, the more work and time is required.
You may not ant to hear this, but you and the fish, might be better off a keeping a Betta and a few small community species, until you are ready to devote the time and effort needed.

Here he is, he has his color back but is contracting his fins. Also he keeps biting as if he is catching a feeder fish.(btw I don't feed live it's just what it looks like)

I also don't feed that much(3 times a week). Again if its absolutely necessary for weekly water changes I can do it, I really care/ want to keep this fish.

I may consider trading in this jardini arowana.... is there any other cool "monster" fish tha require less work. I'm thinking of bichirs but I don't know what else.

If you want some nice predatory fishes the you should get some snakeheads. Heavily planted tanks with minimum maintenence. I change maybe 15% every other months to my channas. But then again i have an heavily planted tank.
