Sorry Leichardti Death

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The problem with feeders are the fact that they're kept in poor conditions. To put it simply you'll never see feeders kept in super clean tanks like you would for more valuable fish. These cramped conditions and lack of care often lead to fish carrying diseases. So if you must feed feeders, quarantining for a week is a definite must. Did you buy your lei locally? They're quite pricey from LFS in the Sac area.

A list of the other fish in the tank is with the 3 to 4 inch Leichardti are most probable first 4 to 5 inch orange pike, 3 to 4 inch managunses (spelling?), 3 inch silver arowana, 2 pangasium cats (spelling), 3 inch pleco, 3 inch african knifefish, 3 inch peackok bass. I was most concerned about the managunses yet I never seen any conflict with him and the Leichardti (and even today with the Silver Arowana). As well the Leichardti was bigger than the Silver Arowana. If he died from injury I think it was from the orange pike.

The Leichardti was by far more dominant over the Silver Arowana and I was more concerned for the Silver Arowana than the Leichardti.

shouldn't have put him straight in a 100g. You need to grow him out a bit.

He was probably super skittish right? Freaked out most of the time you approached the tank?

I'm willing to bet he freaked out and bumped his head somewhere pretty hard.

i threw my 3" lei in a 125 and hes fine :P
