Hey I used to have spangled perch in my dam. But they all got washed away which sucks. But we are going to put some wire up over our spillway to stop them getting washed away. The only problem is getting them. I know of a place locally where they live does anyone have any idea on catching them? If not does anyone know of a place they can be bought in bulk for dam stocking. I have heard of things like it but don't know how. Thanks for any help in advance.

Iwould be interested in pics of this fish. Also, does your local regulation allow you to do this? Or are you a fish and game official? Just wondering, I have no idea on fish and game law down under.

you dont need that many they can breed like crazy i personally think if you catch about 10-15 they should multiply quickly. just fish for them?

Interesting fish! Thanks Ich!

umm. unless it is for a private damn and water isnt possible to get into natrual cources them i wouldnt as u (can spread disease parasites etc. as far as the place to buy bulk fingerlings: this company does not have spangled perch on there website but it would be best to contatc them incase they havent been able to update website)

The place where I can catch them flows to the same place as my dam so that isn't a problem.

A siene or cast net might do it.

yeh cast nets are the only legal nets to use without a permit in au or qld anyway. canu tell me where the spangled perch are like the name of creek and the city? unless it is on private land. the only thing is u shouldnt place the perch in aquarium and then release them.

It is in Thornlands in a park its a man made dam. There is a jetty and stuff where people feed the ducks, eels and the spangled perch :) Oh and don't forget the turtles
