Spawn of the Angels

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
While aggression is always present among angels it is often mitigated by having enough to spread it around. Unfortunately, my Marble male was killed. He was the largest of the males so I am very surprised that he was the one who was killed. I am assuming that the two silver are responsible as they have been more aggressive than any of the others especially after they paired off. The Marble and the silver spawned together several times but the level of aggression from them does not compare to the two silvers together. My now 6 angels are housed in a 90g.

I'm very sorry you lost your big male marble :( Maybe he tested the silver male for breeding rights, he was with the female silver before?

I see things like that happen with my angel schools on occasion, but it's usually when angels are still growing up (maturing). No doubt there are many 'things' going on in the tank that change alfa status. Interesting that they do that sometimes. Other pairs stay paired for many years even being in a school, so it's a crapshoot.

Came home to a threesome spawn in action. The males keep lip locking trying to be the dominant. The female pushes a little bit doesn’t seem overly concerned. The gold severum acts like it wants in too.

I was surprised too. The female wasn’t trying to drive either male away.

I wonder if they both fertilized the eggs haha! Guess you wouldn't be able to find out because they have the genes. Unless one male is sunset blushing.....

The severum cracks me up!

Yes, both males were fertilizing the eggs. All 3 are siblings so they all carry the same genes.

The pair ate all the eggs, so back into the 90g with them. I need the grow out space for my BNP fry.
