I appreciate the feedback , thanks.

No problems. Whats the normal temps summer contra winter where you live? A friend of mine is a snakehead addict at he keeps all kinds of channas. In his basement he has seasons for his sub-tropical species. In ghe summer 23-26c and in the winter 15-18c without heating any tanks due to the wheather seasons here in sweden.

I live on Okinawa island which is tropical. Gets easily 35c+ (95 d Fahrenheit) in the Summers and around 18-20c (low 60s d Fahrenheit) in the winter. But I do run air conditioning in my apt during the summer so the tank temp won't change much with the weather. I wish it did , it would be nice to ditch my tank heater which is an eyesore

Well you can ditch the heater if you want to. In the winter you can always bring the temp in the tank down with frozen bottles. Thats what i did with my pulchras. Chuck a frozen 2L bottle in every evening and every morning and your good to go.
