Ok im looking to make some of my own sponge filters and need a liitte input as to what material is gonna get the most bang for the dollar:D Ive been reading about couch/chair foam - outdoor furniture foam- weather stripping foam - ?:headbang2
So you guys let me know what kinda foam will do a good job besides ac 110 - poret foam etc. Give me your ideas and links if you have any im ready to get this project going
Thanks

i actually use the green scour pads (with out any chemicals on them or metal) that you can find in most stores. I usually go to the dollar store and they are about 10 for $1. they work great as a sponge type filter

Hey another 651!

I've seen people use car wash sponges

The ones with or with out scotch brite on one side ? there not very thick though do you double them up or something? i may not be thinking of the same thing

Whatever sponge material you choose to use, make sure it has no anti-bacterial additives or other chemicals that may harm your fish.

O yes for sure ! thats why im getting options on what others are using . u just never know theres so many chemicals put on things these days.

your thinking what i am thinking...without scotch brite for sure... as cheap as you can go... and depending on the application... i have 3 or four stacked together in the ac110
