Sports and fitness 2021

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As some know, I play competitive soccer, and I got injured just over 2 weeks ago.
I have: Osgood-Schlatter's Disease, Patella Tendonitis, Sever's Syndrome, Plantar Fasciitis, and Illiotibial Band Syndrome

Basically, I have my heel growth bone splitting from my foot, which is from growth. My bony bump under my knee cap is very painful. My tendons in my kneecap hurt a lot as well. I have very tight calves, and my IT band is very tight.

So, I am out of soccer for 2 months, just as the season came :(

I ran a race in the Sonoran desert of Arizona 2 weeks ago. It's called the Javelina Jundred, and it is a 100 mile running race. I finished in 24:51 and just resumed running this last Tuesday. I will run 10 miles tomorrow and 14 on Sunday.

I've let my fitness slack a bit over the last month, been busy on the home front so I haven't been out on the bike since early October.

Hopefully though, after I've done some work on the tanks today, i'll be out on it later.

Fair play to you robmcd robmcd . A real life iron man, with legs, and lungs, to match.

And just to make you feel a little better about your cravings, I have a sweet tooth and it drives me crazy. I love chocolate, biscuits and cakes, my missus literally has to hide treats that she gets for the kids.....and I know all her hiding places, i'm terrible.

If it wasn't for the fact that I can burn close to a 1000 calories an hour on my bike (extremely high intensity training, just casual riding about 500 calories an hour), i'd be closer to the 200lb mark than my usual 150lb.

So you can have the odd treat, and imo it's important for your morale that you do. Just go that extra bit on your next workout.
Balancing hobbies like aquariums with health and fitness makes a big difference in the long run. Personally, I’ve been focusing on strength training and stretching a few times a week — it’s helped a lot with energy and even the little things, like lifting water buckets and maintaining tanks without strain.

I’ve also started cycling again, which is a great way to clear the mind after a long day. It’s cool to read how everyone approaches fitness differently — some prefer running, others swimming or gym work. The main thing is to stay consistent and find something you actually enjoy doing.
