Spots inside of fish..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I removed the Purigen from the filter and added some Herbtana to the tank. You think I should dose the 75g with API General Cure instead or continue with the Herbtana? I’ve never really dealt with anything other than ich a few times.

Seen something a few years ago on a similar fish from a member here, believe it was a bulkhead catfish. Suspected parasite/nematode egg in the fish’s body. Not sure what was the outcome of th fish. Think then it was suggested and i suggest now too....was several rounds(3) of levamisole. Can u get a real close of the spots? Hope it gets better.
Thanks, I’ll attempt to get some better pictures.. hoping it’s not serious as well.

Did you read what I linked to? There is no treatment for either - hence do not add anything! Read the links..........

Yeah I read them.. the Herbtana is an immune system booster to help the fish out. I’m guessing they contracted the parasite from the store where I believe they were being housed in the same tank as snails. The fish showed no signs for the months I’ve owned them up until now. I’ll be waiting it out and hopefully the fish survives. I really appreciate your help!

Ok, IMO there are a number of ways to reduce stress in fish, but adding an unknown factor that only offers
*Ingredients are proprietary* in their SDS, isn't one of them. It might as well be monkey piss in a bottle as far as I'm concerned. Personally I would not add it, or anything else, other than perhaps some sodium chloride (salt) to assist in any potential osmoregulatory stress. Otherwise keep their water uber clean, feed a high quality food, and keep aggression to a minimal. You could also keep lighting to a minimal. Good luck.

Will do! Thanks for your input... I’ll stop adding and just perform large water changes. I guess it kinda freaked me out and I acted too quickly.

Ok, if things take a turn for the worse, post back. Good luck!
Would you recommend transferring the fish to a different tank or just letting everything run it’s course and not stressing the fish out more?

What all is in there?
Total of 6 Geos (two of which are from the same store so I suspect they both have it), 7 Silver-Tip Tetras, 4 Small Plecos and 3 Coptodon Bytbobate growouts. All of them have lived together for close to two months and they are all new to the 75g which is a brand new tank.
