Hello,
I am looking on using squirt and dump acclimation method described nicely by Miles in:
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5350&highlight=squirt+drop

I would like to try and use it on a WC flower ray coming directly to me from Columbia (VERY long trip). Did any one use that methos on such fishes after such a long stress (especially Tiger/Flower rays)?

I believe I should simply cut the plastic bag add a little bit of Amonia desolver, net the fish and put it in the carantine aquarium.

Any opinion is much appreciated. I know these are very sensitive fish and had no luck in the past (though, this is my first time getting them directly from shipement).

Thank you all in advance for any feedback.

You should check a thread posted by sbuse last week. Should be on page two, it shows all the pros and cons of each.

I've done squirt and dump on my past three rays. no losses yet.

Thank you - that's good. Did you get them after a long voyage? What kind of rays did you try that on?

I did it on a flower had no problem

I appreciate that ! Was it done for the ray after a long travel? Was it directly from the exporter?
(I hope I'm not interogating too much - I wanted to make sure there's some sort of a match in conditions). Overall so far I see good experience.

No mine was after a short flight.

Thank you for the response. Mine is coming from Columbia to Israel, which means over 24 hours of travel (I guess even worse, more like 48 hours with some internal travels).
Reticulata, Yepezi and Motoro do it (either from Columbia or Peru), with flower/tiger had no much success yet, but I was buying from the local importer who is doing drip type of acclimation only.
