Thanks man

What annoys me is that the change was for better... less fish for him. and i moved the tank mates out so he is still in da old tank

may be he misses bossing others around. bichir must not be much of the sport lol

gonna keep observing

It might just be the aros I have dealt with, but it seems that they perfer to have someone/thing to dominate or intimidate.

yeah gotta find him some tank mates to own then ^^

Lights off for a week and monitor. If he is swimming all over the place then you know the lights are the culpret and you can adjust your lighting times from there.

maybe you need some plant life and decoratives in there just a thought.

Thanks for the input, no plants possible in that tank - too dark

Bro

I think your Aro is stress out in the process when u took out its tank mate.
Give it some time it will recover, take care of the water.

Yeah, but it has been a while already and i moved tank mates out before ... i am gonna keep observing

I don't turn on the lights ... but thanks.

Can the tank be too dark?

Darkness wouldn't do that. Try putting something in the tank like some driftwood with plants on it or piece of round pvc piping big enough the fish can hid in. if the fish goes for cover and hides there, and your water parameters are all good, then might just have a shy fish.

Another idea you can try is by lowering the water level in the tank by about half, and see if their is a change in behaviour.

Does the fish constantly face away from the front of the tank ?
