Wow you think the seller put him in a big enough bag.. I hope you get all your money refunded, whoever shipped that fish didn't know what they were doing. Let us know the seller so I can know who not to buy from.

well this was a pretty reputable shipper... i've seen many mkers order from them.

i dont know what to blame since this is my first experience... the package came on time, the heat pack was still warm, but fish was dead.

Agree with JP on the shippers part.. Think of how many fish get shipped and make it... You want me to be totally honest you can blame it on o2, water temp, or other reasons.. But none of them were your fault. I'm betting I know the cause/why it didn't make it but I'll refrain since really it's not my place to speculate.

Truely that fish should have arrived alive and kicking since that's how you would expect to receive it and there shouldn't be an issue getting it to you in that condition. Really there wasn't much you could do from that point.

thanks everyone for the support... im' trying to work something out w/ the shipper and maybe get another SRT, hopefully live at my doorstep.

Wish I would have read this earlier... I am gonna make a thread on how I revived my DOA fish a few weeks ago... Mine was frozen.:(

i remembered that thread... but i didn't have time to search for it.

that would be one hell of a "sticky".

Shipping kills. Sometimes it can be painful if you found a fish you really like. It's happened to me a few times and many others too.

I know how you feel bro. Just had 2 7" CLown loach Dead on Arrival...

Not sure if you're gonna get the shipping cost back though. Sorry to hear..Such a nice fish too..

Don't be worried guys.. From what I've read the best thing to do with big fish is just grab them and throw them in the water. Don't waste your time acclimating. Apparently ammonia is more toxic in warmer water so it's a bad idea to acclimate them to warmer water.
