Yes, now this is good stuff! Raising your voice up on your OWN taste/opinions about each fish, this is why forums exist.

I've had several SRTs from young upto 11" in length and I can see their potential when they grow. SRTs usually pop their head and colors really bloom once they pass 8" mark. Not many people are aware of that, since they may not kept any before fully to an adulthood.

And this is how I think:

I will post some pics of my own previous SRT and others SRT being well......pretty dull in color but with nice body shape turning into a true beauty later on tonight.

JP

they mature late because of the synspilum in them, as im sure you know already, but some may not.

thing is, when i reviewed each fish, i was honest in saying what about each fish was good and bad.

and just because yours turned out for the better (which IMO they only went from light orange to dark orange, probably because of diet, the ingredients Beta Carotene and Astaxanthin to be exact, with some spirulina and kelp to bring out pearling...) you think it means that they will to? what if the ones you posted dont have quite that genetic code to go through that much of a change? and besides that, why take a chance on one that is more expensive AND has not colored up yet, when you can find one cheaper that colored up at 6", i mean, if it starts coloring up already, at 6" yet, just imagine that the colors could be at 8", or 10", probably a hell of a lot better then the peach one at 6" that merely turns orange at 8-10", they are called a super RED texas for a reason.

and for the record, im not saying your SRT arent nice, i do really like the second one particularly, but i dont understand why you would gamble on a not so nice colored fish when there is a greatly colored up fish sitting right there for a much cheaper price.

for some more info about the breeding, male SRT's are 99.99% infertile.

i apologize to the OP for the drama.

Look at the original post and see my first choice. Did that one have the body or color among 3? :D It had the colors. When colors are in the reasonable amount of being nice, I look at the body and fins. it's not like im going to get a fully yellow or unfaded SRT just because it had a nice head and fins?

I won't even argue with you, Danz told me to do so in the past with good enough reasoning. Keep talking about whatever you want:D

Oh and i forgot to post on other FH forums, NICE MP you have there as you stated, it's a true masterpiece!
