Staining

I got a sump under mine and didnt want the moisture to dmg the wood, ended up staining it with weather proof deck stainer, good for 5 years outdoors, and a lifetime indoors :P

Nice work, i personally like the mistakes... gives the stand a vibrant look ^^

The whole point of doing it yourself is there are those little imperfections that make it unique. Looks much better than the "perfect", cookie-cutter stands you get from manufacturers.

Thats really beautiful. I love the red color, and like everyone else the 'imperfections' perfect the final product.

I can't wait to see it set up and see how the red plays with the decor/water/fish.
 
By the way, which stain color did you use? It looks a lot like the mahogany stain I like to use, only a little redder.
