Any body ever get in their tanks to work on them? I am setting up my new 220, and was wondering if the glass was strong enough for me to stand in the tank (around 200lbs or so), this would make setting up much much easier...unless the bottom gives out. BTW it is a standard 220ish 72x24x30 w/1/2" glass. Thanks.

I stood in mine when i was preping mine! Same Deminsions and everything. I was about 190-200 then too. Now im about 175-180 but then i was a fat ass and it held just fine.

When I had my 600g plywood tank I had to get inside to work on it. It was 4' deep!

190 pound fat ass? Are you one of the oompa-lumpas from Willey Wonkas Chocolate factory or something? You have to be under 5 foot tall to be a lard ass at 190 pounds!

I picture you as one of those early UFC fighters (Joe Son) at 5'2" 220LBS! I hope you did not get repeatitively punched in the doo-dads like he did by Kieth Hackney though:WHOA:

Yea, if it were plywood i wouldn't worry about it, but standing on glass makes me a bit nervous.

Weaksrt: worked out OK for ya huh? Maybe ill try it.

Make sure that you attach a rope ladder to the tank shorty! We would hate to hear that you got trapped in the 30" tall tank!:D

If you can put a couple hundred pound of substrate in and then a hundred or so pounds of rock in there you getting inside shouldn't be a problem. Unless your really big!

I would not. That few hundred pounds of substrate is spread even across the bottom of the tank. Tanks are designed to hold massive amounts of weight, but not all in one spot
