I got sleepy, took a nap, and came out to find that he had filled in all the trench, done some more digging, and went home for the day.

Let's see how the actual pond looks...

What the hell? Why is it 10' deep in the middle?

That kids, is why you don't take naps while construction on your property is taking place. I'm gonna have to talk to him tomorrow; I asked for 4.5' - 5' in the middle. Not really sure what he's thinking with this. Oh well, I'm sure we'll get it sorted out.

Here's a picture from the other side, where you can kind see my house in the distance, to the left of the pine tree and the behind the big tree (I think I'll trim it so I can see the pond easily from my porch and bedroom window all year around):

$1500 for the dig and any other work the guy does (the tile, and he's gonna move some large rocks for me for the waterfall, etc).

The dirt will be fluted out behind for the waterfall and as a raised flower garden.

Day 2!

Talked to him this morning, and he said that the deepest part will end up being about 7' down. Little deeper than I was planning on, but not a big deal. Today he's going to work on shaping the pond into more of a kidney shape, which is what I requested, and work on getting the dirt behind it into a nice size and shape for the waterfall and anything else I plant on it.

Starting this morning:

Getting bigger, and more shaped:

I just started walking around, and taking pictures from different spots.
