  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah just take out the air hose.....
i thought you meant bubbles like what form when you first fill a tank

Just make sure that the SG is 1.025 when you start the cycle. That way when the cycle is done and you do a water change, there is no major changes water wise.

thanks guys i slowly added tea spoons of salt directly to tank between last night and today to get it a little up i checked it it was about at 1.023 the salt will disinigrate by itself right

salt will start to disolve on its own, but will tank longer. Provided you have a filter and a powerhead running there should be enough current within the tank to keep it a float. 1.023 is fine, but make sure you raise it before you add fish. That much of a difference is no big deal to bacteria.

You might not read ammonia until tomarrow or even the next day. once its there it will start to climb rapidly. Once you reach the maximum amount of the test kit, id say its good to take it out and let it fall naturaly. This should be achieved in 2 weeks if not sooner.

thanks alot...my teacher in school has a 75 gallon saltwater tank in the school and runs a RO unit in the school so now i can get water most likely free...he gave me a poland spring bottle full of water from his tank to add to mine for bacteria.....i am going to get more live rock...can i add during cycle or after? also should i buy live rock in water or base rock?
