but if it's the only fish isn't THIS the QT? lol

Actually, far from it. The reason we dont have live rock or sand in a QT is because both these mediums have the capacity to house a parsite. So, if you use your main tank as the QT which houses live rock / sand, then the potential is there for a parasite to stay in the main tank and be passed on to another fish when its added...

Just my thoughts of course.... :)

a good QT tank, basic 10 gallon would cost your about 40 bucks lol. Very cheap. Tank small light, HOB filter just for mechanical filtration. Sponge filters would also work well, a piece of fake coral would work as a hiding place. no sand or rock needed.

1.Whats the purpose of a QT?
2.Does a QT need to be cycled?
3.Explain
4.I think my tank has parasites, i see a few little white things moving around on the glass...INFO PLEASE!

to allow you to treat fish without killing coral inverts... and to not spread disease from new fish

yes

like any tank there's needs to be a means to get rid of ammonia nad other watses.. keeping a sick fish in poor water is going to make getting it better all the harder

little bugs is not going to cut it in SW, lol there's a lot of little crawly dude, most of which are good

but isn't he JUST getting the one clown, or did i miss something?

dudes im lost...is the little white thing bad?? i see some white little ball thing at the surface of the water a few of them are these eggs or something??

i would guess against it being bad, but a very high quality picture would help if posible.

QT's are great and if your planning on getting a larger tank down the road, with mulitple fish going in it, then get one.

For now the only reason i suggested it is because if the fish does get sick you either move the fish and treat, or move the rock, sand, coral, inverts etc... and treat. An ill fish without treatment will probably not fair to well in the end.
