My sugguestion would be besides the display tanks all around your store, have bare bottom tanks. Keep everything looking sparkling clean.

Not sure if this would be appealing or not but it would def keep debris and poo easy for your high scholl students to suck up.

MAN U READ MY MIND! I was just gonna ask if i shld do bare bottom tanks or not!!!! Ok so bare bottom is a yes ill do that plus it will save on substrate. And also does anyone knw where i can get fish tank racks with the tanks???

To cut down on costs too i was thinking of breeding some fish i want to try to breed at home. Like mollies and tetras and guppies are 1000000000 per dollar(not really). Like i want to try to breed some plecos and pictus catfish and other cool fish. But wht are your thoughts breed basic starter fish or breed the pictus and plecos and other cool fish too.

I would use a substrate in your tanks. Much more visually appealing than bare bottom IMO. Also, your going to need to run a service operation setting up, maitaining, and tearing down tanks and ponds for people. Thats where a lot of money can come from.

So u mean like cleaning smaller ponds, tearing down tanks, and setting up tanks. I will also be like a house doctor. And if i have open quarintine tanks in the back of my store i can try and help save ur fish. If i dont save ur fish ill give u a brand new one about in the price range of the old fish. How much shld i charge to go to a house tear down/set up a tank, and to help someone with their sick fish?

Substrate: If i did do substrate i wld probably do sand because for like 50 lb bag its realviley cheap and a pool store with pfs is close

Anyone got some thoughts:confused:

I think imma go bare bottom easy to clean....and cheap eventually i mite go with sand but thats all

And wht do u think of my idea for helping tear down/ setup and how much shld i charge for it?

If u go bare bottom I would paint the bottom of the tanks, color would be more appealing IMO. Also I would look at custom tanks and racks. You can build the tanks up to 8' long and separate using 1/4" glass. May be cheaper in the long run, Plus a little Creativity and Elbow Grease would make for a spectacular store.

We need more LFS's. The one near my house closed down which leaves 2 that I know of in a town of 2.5 million people. (Other than PetSmart and Petco)

Best Luck,

Bear
